Folsom Vista Freshman Football Photos

This year I will be capturing photo at all of the Folsom Vista High school Freshman football games. I am working on getting a sideline pass now so hopefully I can get some really good shots of the team.

All photos will be uploaded here and they will be organizes into one gallery for each game. I have already started taking some pre-season shots which are found in this gallery.

All of the photos are for sale, look for the buy button above each photo. If you want more photos taken of your son or daughter let me know. I am also available for JV and Varsity games. Send me an email at matt@mattmcguire.com and we can talk about the details.

  4. Do you ever get tackled that close to the action?

  5. If you are able to secure access to and permission to photograph sporting events you have a good chance of getting some good photos as you tend to be able to get closer to the action with your camera than normal spectors can.

In the UK I know it is often hard to be able to attend such events as a photographer unless you have specific press accreditation though maybe that is not the case for sports events at this level. There is also an ongoing case where a football (soccer to you) team have banned all press photographers from attending their matches – the only way to get photos of the match is to buy them from the official club photographers. Rival teams have got around the ban by sending cartoon artists, re-using old photos and even reconstructing the goals using toys!

  6. I can’t believe you have to get a sideline pass in order to shoot a few photographs these days. You would think that a nice camera would do the trick to get you where you need to be. Nice shots, though!

  7. These are excellent photos, Matt! I especially like #1 and #2 ! I´m really impressed about the high-quality of your photos! Did you take them with your Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS II USM lens?

Great pictures! Definitely catching the excitement of the game? I am still curious if you have ever had any funny stories about getting tackled while on the job?

  9. Really nice shots. Sports or any action shots are often the toughest to pull off. I particularly enjoyed the photos from the Galt game. The few showing a reception in action was especially impressive.

  14. Great pics Matt. Awesome action shots.

I agree with roppets, can you share your camera settings for those action shots?

All of my action shots always turn out blurry.
