I finally purchased the Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS II USM lens!! I have been saving for this lens for a while now and was able to finally pull the trigger. I have only had time to shoot a handful of photos with this lens, but I am loving it so far. The clarity of the lens is awesome and you really appreciate the 2.8 aperture in lower light situations.
Here are a couple of photos I have taken with this lens. I will post more soon.

I just got this lens last week! I got it as MINT CONDITION off of Ebay, $1,650 instead of $2k in the store, and I didn’t pay a DIME of tax!

That girl is really cute
Looks like my cousin.

wow, nice photos, how much does a lens like that cost?

Those pictures rock! I bet that camera was worth every penny

congrats on the purchase….i am starting to invest in my hobby as well but it takes time to get all the gear

Any words about the price you paid? The quality is absolutely convincing. Especially the first photo is amazing since it shows so many layers. I guess I should upgrade my equipment later this year, too…

Your review about this lens urges me to buy one. What a quality it provide. the pics are sharp and has good clarity.

Very nice…. Must be a great feeling to be able to get a new addition for your hobby and passion.. Looking at the Photo’s I can tell that the lens is worth every penny you spent on it and that you may even start using it exclusively for a while due to the satisfaction of the results. Nice shots by the way…

That last picture of the child is beautiful! How much was the lens?

sharp as hell.. ugh i want one pleasee

wow that is ridiculously sharp with some very nice bokeh. I can see why there is premium for the newer version. Nice stuff!

My favorite shot from those above is the one with all the water coolers. I love how you got down low, almost on the same plane as the coolers. These are the type of images that people love, but no one thinks to take at the time. You must be having a lot of fun with your new glass!

Thanks for posting some samples.
I am also looking for this lens. Still wondering though.
But the 2.8 aperture is clearly something you would look for.

Got this lens too, it’s maybe the only lens that stays on my 5d 2 at the min.
Good luck with the new shots you make with it!

This lens is frequently employed at weddings. Lack of light is generally not a problem at outdoor weddings, but indoor weddings are usually light-challenged. There is not a lot of action during most wedding ceremonies and IS can be very helpful in this situation.

What a great purchase! I’m still saving up for that one; but I’m sure it’s worth every penny!

nice! One day I will have more lens power in my repitoir but I need to take care of the ones I got first. Once I get my business up and running I will need to upgrade all of my equipment.

The lens that does impress me is most is probably the 200mm F2 IS L prime! But, of course, at €4700,- that’s a different caliber. Any lens as sharp or sharper than my 100mm F2.8 IS L macro to me is fine. Any with the 200mm F2.0 IS II boken and sharpness is excellent. The earlier iteration of the 70-200 F2.0 IS L paled in comparison. I’d hoped otherwise…

A great lens, but if you don’t need the F2,8 (high iso are better and better every year), the F4 L zoom is also very good, less expensive and, very important for me, lighter.

Awesome photographs I can see your new lens will get lots of use. Obviously a wise investment and I can’t wait to see more post of your photographs.

Just got the same lens a few weeks back. I had a sigma 70-200 before. It’s like a different planet now. I am so pleased with the sharpness and the luminosity!
[Reply]
ooh nice… I shoot primes on the wide end but am tossing up whether to go for the 70-200 on the long end or a 135 f2… ahh decisions decisions…. the 70-200 does sound pretty awesome though!

Nice pics! I want this lens now!

I admit I am slightly jealous
I am still trying to save for my 70-200mm f2.8. These are the sort of lenses that we will keep for life, I bet we’ll still be using them in 10 years time.
